EMPTY CALORIES
11 Jan
This board is for anyone struggling to keep their promise of a Dry January. I have a lot of friends doing it this year, and quite a few have already failed.
I don’t drink every day, not even close. But if I open a bottle of wine, I can easily finish it off on my own without even feeling drunk, which is nothing to be proud of. I had a chat with a friend about this the other day. Neither of us have a sweet tooth, so really rarely eat cakes, chocolates or sweets, and generally eat healthy, home cooked meals. However, we think nothing off drinking a silly amount of wine, which we both know is high in calories.
Just to put this into perspective, an average bottle of wine has over twice the calories of a Mars bar or a Magnum classic and I certainly wouldn’t eat two of either of these in one go!
I “somehow” often choose to ignore the fact that I’m adding a ridiculous amount of calories in my diet just simply with alcohol, so I decided to embark on a little experiment. I’m going to take my measurements, including visceral fat, BMI and muscle tone as well as my weight and pictures of my body now and then retake them in another four weeks when I have been booze free.
I guarantee that just by not drinking alcohol, I will tone up, lose weight and my visceral fat will also be reduced. Based on how hideous my ‘before’ pictures turn out to be, I may be posting them on my blog… Now, does anyone care to join me in this little test?
